Juventus has officially announced the appointment of Luciano Spalletti as the new head coach, following the dismissal of Igor Tudor earlier this week. Tudor, who took over from Thiago Motta in March, had signed a three-year contract after successfully leading Juventus to the Champions League. Despite a recent 3-1 victory over Udinese, Juventus currently holds the seventh position in Serie A, trailing their rivals Inter by just three points.
Tudor’s tenure ended on a disappointing note, with the team enduring an eight-match winless streak across all competitions during his final weeks. The squad also faced challenges, including a four-match stretch without scoring. In the wake of Tudor’s departure, Massimo Brambilla stepped in as interim coach and successfully guided Juventus to a commendable win against Udinese, with contributions from Dusan Vlahovic, Federico Gatti, and Kenan Yildiz, effectively breaking the team’s winless run.
In a statement on the club’s official website, Juventus expressed enthusiasm about Spalletti’s arrival, stating, “We are delighted to welcome a coach with such expertise and experience to the Bianconeri family. Welcome to Juventus and good luck, coach!” This marks Spalletti’s return to club management after leaving Napoli in 2023, where he achieved notable success, including securing the Scudetto in his final season. His extensive coaching experience also includes stints at Inter, Roma (twice), Udinese, and Zenit St Petersburg in Russia.
