Chelsea’s best performer in their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace was 18-year-old English right-back Josh Acheampong, according to Enzo Maresca. He said of Acheampong after the match,


“All the players, for me, were good today but if I had to decide for one, Josh was the best player. He can be a top player for this club. We decided today because we saw he was ready. Today he showed how good he is.” This was his first match for Chelsea 1st team this season.
Acheampong’s previous agreement was set to end in June 2026, but has since signed a four-and-a-half-year deal ending 2029..
