The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has announced the suspension of Marc Brys, the head coach of the national team, the Indomitable Lions, for a period of three months.
FECAFOOT has appointed Martin Ndtoungou Mpile and David Pagou to jointly manage the national team on an interim basis. This move aims to stabilize the team as it prepares for upcoming international fixtures.
ALLEGATIONS INCLUDE
Absence from Key Meetings: Brys allegedly refused to attend a crucial work session organized by the Secretary General on May 10, 2024.
Unauthorized Announcements: He is accused of publishing the player roster and holding a press conference without prior authorization, violating FECAFOOT’s procedures.
Lack of Communication: Brys reportedly failed to share his training program with the federation.
Isolated Decision-Making: He is said to have taken independent initiatives and leaked player information to third parties and the media without FECAFOOT’s consent.
Delayed Player Lists: Brys allegedly did not submit the final player lists for matches within the required timeframe.
Unauthorized Staff Changes: He is accused of altering the administrative, sporting, and technical staff of the national team, which had been officially appointed by FECAFOOT’s executive committee.
Incitement and Rebellion: Brys is also charged with inciting certain players to rebel and refusing to collaborate with the rest of the team’s administrative and technical staff.
Contractual Issues: Finally, he reportedly failed to sign and formalize his employment contract with the federation.
