The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is pleased to provide an update on the
ongoing recruitment process for the ZimbabweMen’s National Team Head Coach. After an exhaustive search and meticulous selection process, the following applicants have been interviewed for the position:

The preliminary interviews were conducted yesterday, Monday, 22 July. The second round of interviews is scheduled to take place over the next few days, ensuring a thorough evaluation of each candidate’s qualifications, vision, and ability to lead our national team to new heights.
In parallel, ZIFA is diligently working on compiling the shortlist for the MightyWarriors Head Coach position. The interview process for this role is set to be completed by Monday,29 July.
ZIFA remains committed to appointing the most qualified and capable coaches to lead our national teams. We believe that these appointments will significantly contribute to the development and success of Zimbabwean football on the international stage.
ZIM WARRIORS COACH CANDIDATE 1⚽
Gerard Nus Casanova, 39, is a Spanish UEFA Pro license football manager who is the assistant manager of the Greece national football team. Well, he has experience in the Premier League with Liverpool FC and Brighton Hove Albion FC (England), in the K-League with Jeonnam Dragons (South Korea), in the A-League with Melbourne Heart & City (Australia), for Ghana National Team (Africa), Greece National Team, Elche CF (Spain), Rayo Vallecano of Madrid (Spain), AFC Eskilstuna (Allsvenskan, Sweden) and more

ZIM WARRIORS COACH CANDIDATE 2⚽
Michael Nees 57, is a German professional football coach and former player. He last worked as manager of the Kosovo national under-21 team. Had a stint between 2008–2009 technical advisor for South Africa. Not much on him😃⚽
Michael Nees is leading the long-term project in South Africa and will assist the local association SAFA in coach training, the further development of women’s and girls’ football and the promotion of talent.

Marcia Maximo Barcellos, 62, is a Brazillian football manager who was a member of the coaching stuff for Brazil’s under 17 and 20 which featured players like Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. Worked as a technical director to the Cayman Islands
Tanzanian national team coach in 2006 where his team qualified for CHAN finals.

Zim Warriors Coach Candidate 4 ⚽
Antoine Hey, 54, is a German football coach and former professional player. Hey holds a football teaching license (UEFA Pro License) and the English FA Coaching Certificate. He is a UEFA coach instructor for English-speaking countries on the African continent. He spent most of his playing career in the top two divisions of German football.
2022 He has managed Myanmar A-National.

Coach of the Gambian national football team
From 1 March 2008, Hey received a one-year contract as national coach of Liberia
February 2009, Hey took over the Kenya national team
On 1 July 2010, Hey signed a four-year contract as Technical Director of the Libyan Football Federation.
March 2017, he took over as coach of the Rwandan national team but asked for his contract to be terminated in January 2018.

Winfried Schäfer, 70, is a German football manager.

Head coach, 2001–2004. He won the 2002 African Cup of Nations with Cameroon, defeating Senegal 3–2 in a penalty shoot-out after a 0–0 draw in the final.

Head coach, 2013–2016. He was successful here
